Biography
A Few Words About Me
I was born in Queenstown in the Eastern Cape, where wide horizons and natural beauty first stirred my imagination. I painted my first canvas at six, and though life led me through business and other paths, art has always been at the heart of who I am.
Today, from my studio in Cape Town, I work in paint, pastel, charcoal, and sculpture—each piece a reflection of my connection to South Africa’s landscapes, its people, and its spirit. For me, art is not just about what is seen on the canvas, but about sharing a story and inviting others into the world as I experience it.
Inspiration Behind My Latest Works
My most recent collection is inspired by the landscapes and rhythms of South Africa—the wide-open spaces of the Eastern Cape, the energy of Johannesburg, and the coastal light of Cape Town. Each place has left its mark on me, and together they shape how I see and paint the world.
Lately, I’ve been drawn to contrasts: the meeting of calm and turbulence, of light and shadow, of history and the present moment. Nature provides the backdrop, but the deeper inspiration comes from people—their resilience, their stories, and their connection to the land.
These works are not just depictions of scenery, but meditations on memory, transformation, and belonging. They are my way of capturing fleeting moments and turning them into lasting expressions of place, time, and spirit.
